I wipe away my tears of joy and the lights dim until I can’t see clearly. I look ahead, trying to make sense of what seems to be a goddess appearing out of the shadows. What is it? An angel? No. A dream? No. Even better, it’s Ariana Grande.
Ariana Grande’s famous “Dangerous Woman” tour has landed a stop in Shanghai, and I was lucky enough to snag some backstage VIP tickets. Before going to our seats, my friends and I had the opportunity to meet her. She smelled like vanilla and looked like one of the barbie dolls I had growing up. Although the meet and greet was brief, she asked me how I was and thanked me for coming to her show.
If I had to state one thing about the whole concert, well, it’s that it did not disappoint.
Grande opened with “Be Alright,” emphasizing the power of having a positive attitude. During the entire concert I was more than alright. She serenaded the audience as she sung the songs from the Dangerous Woman album, adding a few of her older songs into the mix such as “One Last Time,” “Bang Bang,” “Break Free” and more.
I especially loved her performance of “Thinkin Bout You” directed to the LGBT audience. There were rainbow lights and beautiful glowing pictures behind her.
Overall, Ariana Grande’s concert was a 10/10 experience and is by far the best one I have ever been to, not to mention how she danced through the whole performance in her thigh-high, six inch heels. No big deal.
To Ariana, I’d like to give her a big thank you for coming to Shanghai. After the events that transpired in Manchester, she continues to spread love and joy through her performances to people all over the world.
And, well, she truly is a dangerous woman.
