Join The Echo!
From news to opinion to spotlight, we are sure to have something that may spark your interest. If not, you can pitch your own idea to create something new. Check out the FAQ for more.
Submit Your Own Work
If you (for some sad reason) don’t want to join The Echo, you can still submit your work to get it published. You can write about any interesting event you’re participating in or organizing (could be from a club or outside school). You can also pitch a school paper to publish, but run it by your teacher first. Here are the basic requirements:
✓ Relevant and appealing to your audience, the SAS high school community
✓ Writing is concise and captivating
✓ Starts with off a lede, aka the “hook” in journalism, just one or two sentences
✓ Include at least two pictures with credits: links to source website or name (eg. Taken by Brian Meller, Photo Credit: Photography Club)
✓ Include credit for information you got from others (links or name the book, person, etc.)
✓ Include quotes whenever necessary to add perspective or credibility
Contact us with any questions and submit your work at echosas@outlook.com.
Letter to the Editor
If you have a voice or personal view you want to express to the high school community, send us a Letter to the Editor. Similar to submitting your work as mentioned above, but you can choose to be named as the writer or publish it anonymously. Please remain respectful of the school and refrain from profanities. Email it to us at echosas@outlook.com.
Surveys
Participate in our surveys! From silly little questions about campus life to voicing your opinion on school policies. You can find the former monthly in the sidebar on the right and the latter will be emailed out to every student.
We Need Your Feedback
Tell us what you think of The Echo! Any comments or suggests? Something you wish we would do more of or less of? Do you agree with us or disagree? Whatever it is, hit us up! You know our email by now.
