OUR MISSION
The Echo aims to:
HISTORY
The Echo carries on the mission of the school's previous newspaper, The ShangHigh Echo. For more than a decade, students from the journalism class printed issues to represent student voice. When administration cut journalism from the high school curriculum in 2015, students came together to form what is currently known as The Echo.
Like many other print newspapers around the world forced to move to a digital platform, SAS students passionate about journalism struggled with the transition—from learning the basics of journalism to recruiting and organizing writers no longer motivated by a grade. But the students persevered, driven by the firm belief that the SAS high school deserves a voice.
Over a year on, The Echo continues growing and changing to accommodate the needs of the SAS high school. In the years to come, The Echo will continue striving to provide opportunities for aspiring writers, stand as a center for student voice, and serve the SAS Puxi community as a whole.

The Echo aims to:
- Promote the truth
- Cover news with impartiality
- Uphold the values of the SAS mission statement
