The
Link Crew program exists for two reasons. The first is for the incoming
freshmen to get a feel for what high school is like from a student’s
perspective. Link Crew leaders can provide insight regarding the kinks of high
school, and help give the upcoming freshmen a sense of what high school is
like. The second is for the upcoming class members to have a mentor for the rest of
their freshman year. Freshmen can seek advice from their Link Crew leaders
as well as gain support. The Link Crew leaders help the
freshmen get through the first year of high school that may seem tough in some
ways.

So
what does it mean for juniors and seniors to become Link Crew leaders? To start
off, incoming juniors and seniors must apply to become a Link Crew leader and
go through an interview process with one of the Linktators, a faculty member
who is a leader of the Link Crew program. After a student is selected
to become a Link Crew leader, he or she must go through rigorous training
sessions that develop the skills necessary for their position. These training
sessions include activities that will allow leaders to bond with their freshmen
and also activities that will help the Link Crew leaders work as a part of a
team. Being a Link Crew Leader means taking on immense responsibility and
working tirelessly to help the freshmen assimilate into high school.
