If you’re looking for a place to have Sunday brunch, O’Delice is the place to go. One of the many restaurants in the Hong Mei community, O’Delice stands out as the cozy French restaurant known for its waffles and crepes.
Food
O’Delice has all the regular food items expected at a French restaurant: mushroom soup, salads, pasta, and sandwiches, but what attracts most of its customers is its wide variety of waffles and crepes. Although they’re not up to the standard of the crepes and waffles in France, they come pretty close. Customer-favorite topping combinations are Nutella & banana, strawberries & cream, and apples & ice cream. In addition to dessert crepes, O’Delice also offers main course versions, with large and filling portions, including bacon & cheese, ham & egg, and salmon & spinach.
For drinks, O’Delice has a variety of fresh juice and healthy smoothies, as well as specialty drinks such as the maple latte mocha, a great replacement for your everyday coffee.
Environment
The atmosphere of O’Delice is very casual, so there’s no need to dress up. Because it is quite small, it also feels very cozy, which makes for easy conversation. However, the restaurant is frequently swarmed with customers on most days, aside from mid-afternoon and post-dinner times.Service
Unlike most restaurants, customers at O’Delice order at the cashier and pay before eating. Waiters are generally friendly and can speak English, but service can be slow because of how busy the restaurant is. O’Delice does not offer reservations.Cost
Dian Ping, the Chinese version of Yelp, provides a price estimate of about 87 RMB per person. O’Delice is by no means cheap—two crepes often exceed 80 RMB, and salads and pastas are around 60-70 RMB—but given the quality, it’s forgivable.Emma Li
